Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. Role Summary/Purpose:

To install, service, repair, and maintain in proper operating condition all types of refrigeration machinery and equipment in accordance with duties described below.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lays out, assembles, and installs refrigeration machines and equipment, such as compressors and all adjunct parts working from blueprints, sketches and specifications.
  • Adjusts and regulates all valves, controls, thermocouples, and thermo-stats.
  • Starts machine and checks to determine whether machine is operating properly.
  • Diagnoses trouble and performs emergency repairs on all types of refrigeration units.
  • Makes periodic overhaul of refrigeration machines and equipment.
  • Disassembles and inspects component parts for defects.
  • Determines most feasible method to correct any unit for defective parts replacement, machining, alignment, and operation.
  • Determines parts necessary for repairs.
  • Obtains replacement parts from supervisor or draws sketches of parts to be machined.
  • Re-assembles machines, making necessary adjustments in preparation for loading system with refrigerant.
  • Insures proper performance by performing operational check.
  • Maintains refrigerant log.
  • May be required to perform a variety of other tasks within the Maintenance department when not performing the above duties.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS diploma / GED equivalent with HVAC Journeyman card is required
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others.
