Lifeway Mobility, an accessibility solutions company that provides a wide variety of ramps, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, transfer aids, and bath safety solutions to individuals and businesses in 12 states and growing, has an immediate need for an Elevator Apprentice. This is an exciting career opportunity for someone who loves working with their hands, has mechanical aptitude, and wants to help individuals with limited mobility. If you are willing to invest in a 4 year, paid apprenticeship program, you will come away with a successful and lucrative career in the accessibility and elevator industry. You will become one of 300 licensed individuals in the state of CT, which means strong job security while also making a good living. What will you do?

  • Install and repair accessibility products including elevators and platform lifts
  • Explain the product to the customer and answer questions
  • Enter work order and inventory data in the Lifeway computer system
  • Receive manufacturer training and on-the-job training (paid time)
  • Pick up and load company vehicle at our Danielson location each morning
  • Work on jobs throughout CT and RI
  • Work on both residential and commercial installations
  • Jobs may take several hours to several days (weekends optional)


Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience in residential or commercial installation of mechanical/electrical equipment
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background screen
  • Ability to drive company vehicle to various client sites and work flexible hours as needed to complete jobs

Physical requirements include the following:

  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs
  • Frequent overhead work
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round
  • Ability to climb ladders, crouch, and occasionally work in confined spaces and at height
