General Responsibilities / Job Summary (A brief description that summarizes the overall purpose and objective of the position and the results you are expected to accomplish):

The Relationship Manager II has overall responsibility for retaining and expanding existing commercial relationships, as well as developing new commercial relationships, with the guidance of the Regional President or Senior Relationship Manager. This may involve the sale and servicing of credit and non-credit products. The portfolio will consist of relationships that have low to moderate complexities. Relationship Manager II will also begin developing a network of COI's as referral sources, will be expected to attend at least one Networking Event monthly and sit on one non-profit board.

Essential Functions/Duties (A few accountabilities that cover the tasks, duties and responsibilities that are most important to get the job done, listed in priority order. Describe what must be accomplished including supervision or management responsibilities and quality and quantity standards.):

  3. Overall responsibility for retaining and expanding existing commercial relationships, as well as developing and beginning to self-source new commercial relationships.
  4. Attends to the needs of customers seeking loans or lines of credit based upon the client's needs.
  5. Interviews clients and prospective clients and prepares documentation for commercial loans including collecting and analyzing financial data for proper loan structure for written/verbal presentation to loan committee or management team.
  6. Management of existing loan and deposit accounts, as well as the sale of additional credit and non-credit products, including treasury management and third-party services, such as merchant services and credit cards.
  7. Partner with the credit department in the analysis of financial background data for new or renewed loans.
  8. Monitor and identify developing trends or early warning signs of problem credits, perform timely risk assessment based upon this information, and updates loan systems and customer credit files with assessments.
  9. Track existing loan portfolio to ensure complete conformity with terms and covenants.
  10. Properly document and close approved loan requests in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies and sound banking practices.
  11. Continues ongoing education to stay abreast of current lending regulations and procedures.
  12. Active involvement in community and business organizations to keep bank brand visible, serves on various civic committees to increase Bank community involvement.
  13. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: Four (4) year bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial and consumer loan, and deposit products.
  • Commercial loan training, consisting of financial statement analysis and loan structuring.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with clear direction from supervisor.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to be proactive.
  • Strong computer knowledge and Windows skills required.
  • Involvement in community groups/events and strong networking skills.
  • Must have effective sales skills and superior customer service skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of commercial, consumer loan and deposit products.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Satisfactorily completes required annual regulatory training.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.


Experience: Three (3) to Seven (7) years of experience in commercial lending

Required Certification/Licenses:

Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to all locations in the bank's footprint as needed. Ability to travel to client sites.

Physical and Mental Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to verbally communicate instructions and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to our clients and other employees.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend sometimes complex schedules, and details to process correspondence accurately, while providing exceptional client service.
  • Manual dexterity for the functional operation of office equipment, computer terminal, and other office equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity required to work at a computer terminal.
  • Mobility enough to coordinate activities in the department and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
