Overview

Following established procedures and under general direction of the SVP, Chief Financial Officer, performs detailed finance assignments requiring strong knowledge of economic/finance theory and accounting principles.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:


• Asset and liability management (ALM) analytics, product and member profitability analytics, and decision-support analytics as dictated by evolving business needs.
• Supporting the development of the annual operating plan. Monthly financial plan variance analysis and reforecasting
• Board of Directors level performance reporting



Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to Capital Markets team by assisting in accounting and finance. considerations for loan participation purchases and member business lending originations
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation originations. as well as improving systems and procedures in response to management recommendations
• Supports management in fulfilling requests from auditors and examiners.
• Continuously monitors individual processes and look for ways to create efficiencies.
• Partner with management on various projects and financial reports to support strategic initiatives, ad hoc projects and assignments, as requested.
• Assist with monthly cost center management reports, including budget variance analysis of non-interest income, operating expenses and capital expenditures. Work with business leaders to develop and maintain complex revenue, expense, and operational capacity forecasting models.
• Assist on budget and forecast development, including creation of templates, compiling data, and generating comparative summaries.
• Assist with compiling and generating peer group financial analysis and reporting quarterly.
• Work closely with management to continually improve reporting processes.
• Maintain and update procedure documentation for all functions performed.
• Keep up-to-date on all applicable regulatory requirements to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Follow record retention guidelines as published by regulatory agencies and federal and state record retention laws.
• Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.
• Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.
• Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed herein are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate projects and assignments with strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong, consistent customer service orientation and professionalism are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent (preferably in finance or accounting) from a four-year college. MBA a plus. Minimum of 3 years related experience performing financial reporting and analysis. Credit union or financial institution experience required.

TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY

To perform this job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills and demonstrated expertise. Strong spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation software skills are required. Ability to learn new applications quickly and general knowledge of network and database usage is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or other related professional certifications, are plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Clear and demonstrated ability to understand and convey business performance information, ranging from basic to intermediate in complexity.To perform this job, the employee must possess strong interpersonal skills, good phone and e-mail etiquette, a professional presentation, and a high degree of personal initiative. Interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, motivating and influencing others, maintaining a significant level of trust and diplomacy, fostering internal and external business relationships.

This position requires the employee to work during regular business hours and occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet established department deadlines and is hybrid-remote.
