Scrub Tech - Full-time

Meade District Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Scrub Tech.

Hours will be split between our Surgery Department and Central Supply Department.

**Hours spent in Central Supply will depending on how many surgeries are scheduled each week.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient and system confidentiality
• Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with providers, personnel, and support agencies.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of patient.
• prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
• demonstrates competence in care of specimens
• assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients.
• accurately completes counts and follows proper procedure in the even of incorrect count.
• maintains safe environment for patients, co-workers and self
• checks all equipment/instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
• treats patients with respect and dignity
• anticipates needs of surgeon during intra-operative phase
• cleans and prepares rooms between procedures, after case, restocks supplies and organizes effectively for end-of-case clean up
• responsible for care of instruments including cleaning and processing.
• consults other staff members when in question or unfamiliar with equipment or procedure.
• performs any tasks assigned by your supervisor.
