Maintenance Technician- Calibration - Full-time

Vaxxinova US is seeking a Maintenance Technician- Calibration to join our Manufacturing division in Willmar, MN.

About the role

The Maintenance Technician- Calibration, reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, is part of a team responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through maintenance and repair of equipment and the overall facility. This role interacts with fellow employees within engineering, logistics, quality assurance/control, manufacturing, and research and development departments.

Main responsibilities:

• Calibrating instruments that are used to monitor and control equipment and processes will be the primary responsibility. Over time, this role could be expanded to administer all aspects of our calibration program to include scheduling, sending out standards to third parties for verification, troubleshooting calibration assets, updating documents, and completing any necessary incident forms.
• Maintaining and operating (where applicable) facility utility and process equipment, to include a water purification system, air compressors, a recirculating chiller, steam sterilizers, incubators, pumps, mixers, valves, centrifuges, air handlers, etc.
• Performing general facility and grounds maintenance such as sweeping, snow removal from doorways, weed control, painting, etc.
• Assisting with the installation and qualification of new equipment and the requalification of repaired or modified equipment, helping to prove that it will function as expected.
• Accurately documenting all work using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), providing any feedback to the supervisor or project team leader in a timely fashion.
• Assisting with standard operating procedure (SOP) updates, creating new SOPs as necessary.
• Performing additional team functions incidental to maintenance activities to assist production personnel, including heavy or large portable equipment relocation, equipment cleaning, raw material retrieval from warehousing or work at the R&D facility.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Capabilities

• Basic math skills required
• General proficiency with MS Office
• Familiarity with basic tool usage required
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within a regulated, quality-driven environment following standard procedures, yet have a desire for continuous improvement through controlled change.
• Ability to perform work that requires being on your feet, twisting, turning, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and some lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to adapt and react positively to changes in daily routine.
• Manual dexterity – to include fine finger dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) to Four (4) year degree in any technical field preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of demonstrated mechanical expertise or aptitude is preferred.
• A valid Driver’s license and motor vehicle record must meet company standards.
• Boiler license or ability to obtain one, is a plus.
• Previous forklift operational experience, or the ability to become certified through in-house training, is a plus.
