POSITION INFORMATION

The Safety Manager is responsible for managing the safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including the Department of Transportation (DOT). The manager coordinates with the Safety Director and Warren leadership to develop short and long-term strategies in building a culture of safety within the organization.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversees systems and activities to ensure regulatory compliance with DOT, HAZMAT, all federal and state mandated regulations for employees and truck operators. To ensure all truck operators and employees comply with company safety policies and procedures.

· Lead monthly claim meetings with leadership team to relay any trends, concerns or issues

· Serves as first and after-hours contact person for drivers and office support staff involved in potential insurance claims

· Follows SOPs to complete claims process including collection of information/ photos, initial investigation, post-accident testing, towing/cargo transfers

· Subrogation non preventable claims, setting up deductibles, coordination of repairs

· Leads tracking and reduction of CSA scores and citations

· Tracks violations and monitors changes to FMCSA portal ensuring correctable violations are verified completed

· Coordinates with insurance company to ensure proper recordkeeping, monthly bill payment and communication with contractors regarding open claims

· Assists Safety Director on corrective action, enforcement and disciplinary procedures

· Oversee Hours of Services team to ensure driver logs meet both company and FMCSA guidelines as well as truck operator calls are answered appropriately to address problems with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD’s)

· Assists with orientation of new drivers discussing Warren Safety policies and procedures

· Oversees Lytx camera portal, escalated coaching, mentoring, video documentation

· Runs weekly Lytx reports not limited to KPI and Driver Score Reports

· Leads Lytx weekly meetings on KPI, Driver score, and device health

· Coaches and mentors internal employees and truck operators concerning safety regulations, policies and procedures and review disputed driving events

· Update and maintain driver/employee profiles and logins in Lytx portal

· Maintain Prepass inventory and Prepass portal (adding, deleting units)

· Supports operations department regarding safety issues

· Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

· Proficient with MS Office Suite

· Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
