Summary:

The Cabinet Shop Worker manufactures a variety of products such as cabinets and countertops using wood, veneers, laminates, and solid surface materials.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands detailed architectural drawings, schematics, shop drawings, and blueprints
  • Prepares and sets up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing
  • Ensures that products meet industry standards and project specifications, making adjustments as necessary
  • Verifies dimensions or checks the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications
  • Measures dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
  • Produces or assembles components of plastic laminate and solid surface materials for cabinets and countertops
  • Sets up and operates all cabinet shop tools and machines
  • Has knowledge of joinery types and has the ability to apply them
  • Installs hardware, such as hinges, handles, locks, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools
  • Attaches decorative or functional accessories to products
  • Dips, brushes, or sprays assembled articles with protective or decorative finishes, such as stain, varnish, paint, or lacquer
  • As the work dictates, may be presented with opportunity to work on Adena jobsites
  • Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform duties of the role
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in casework / countertop fabrication
  • CNC router and edgebander experience preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
  • Must obtain training and/or certification prior to operating any equipment
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
