Responsibilities

Location: Flexible, extensive travel required

Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Project Engineer to join our team at Gaylor Electric, a leading electrical contracting company. The Project Engineer will work closely with the project management team to support the successful execution of electrical projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination: Assist the project management team in coordinating and overseeing all aspects of electrical projects, from planning and scheduling to execution and closeout.
  2. Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget constraints.
  3. Resource Management: Assist in allocating resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
  4. Document Management: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, change orders, and progress reports.
  5. Communication: Serve as a liaison between the project management team, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Quality Assurance: Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure that electrical installations meet or exceed industry standards and client requirements.
  7. Safety Compliance: Assist in enforcing safety protocols and regulations on project sites, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  8. Cost Control: Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and mitigating potential cost overruns.
  9. Client Relations: Support the project management team in maintaining positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project.
  10. Problem Solving: Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during project execution.



Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  2. Previous experience working in a project coordination or assistant project management role within the electrical contracting industry.
  3. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  6. Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installations.
  7. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing electrical construction projects (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  9. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
