Director of Sourcing and Procurement - Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:

Plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the international and domestic sourcing, procurement, and purchasing processes, including team management and vendor relationships.

POSITION DETAILS:

· Salaried, hybrid position requiring a regular, in-office presence at our corporate office in Eclectic, AL (approximately 35-45 minutes from Alexander City, Montgomery, or Auburn, AL)

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create and maintain positive vendor relationships, including resolving concerns, establishing new product specification packets, revision management, addressing quality issues, etc.

· Create and implement a method to evaluate vendor performance on a recurring basis (i.e. vendor scorecard, etc.), that includes ability and timeliness of order fulfillment, competitive pricing, and quality of goods

· Refine and implement more efficient internal systems of locating and purchasing goods

· Direct and oversee procurement and purchasing decisions that positively affect company gross profit, including vendor contract negotiations and finalization

· Oversight of the sourcing and procurement team, including training, assigning projects, appraising performance, etc.

· Coordinate with other departments (i.e., sales, accounting, operations, logistics, etc.) to ensure supply redundancy and purchasing timelines meet customer expectations

· Analyze slow-moving or stale inventory on a recurring basis to make liquidation recommendations to the sales and marketing team

· Create and implement annual purchasing budgets and forecasts that align with sales forecasts

· Maintain market awareness to present continuous improvements and potential opportunities to leadership

· Other duties or special projects as assigned by CFO

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field

· 7-10 years of experience in a sourcing/procurement role, including 3-5 years in a leadership position

· Knowledge of supply chain, methods of domestic/international transportation of goods, domestic/international cultural etiquette, and domestic/international purchasing regulations

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office

· Experience in an ERP software system required; Experience in NetSuite (Oracle) desired

· Competencies utilized: active listening, critical thinking, decision making, negotiation, persuasion, service orientation, problem solving, time management, attention to detail

· Approximately 30% travel required

· Submit to a criminal background check and drug screening

OTHER:

· Regular in-office presence required, however, tasks may dictate specific work location

· This position requires near constant repetitive motions, sitting, and standing

· Regular exposure to indoor climate-controlled office environment; Occasional exposure to non-climate-controlled plant environment

· Compliance with all company, government, and customer guidelines for personal and customer safety protections
