As an Early Intervention Mental Health Counselor - Bilingual you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. You will work in a coaching model, partnering with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through this collaborative process, you ensure families’ priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status, focusing on communication development (receptive and expressive language and communication, oral-motor, and feeding).
  • Participate in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the communication area of development.
  • Provide direct services to clients according to their IFSP’s including home visits, child groups, and parent groups.
  • Monitor developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform the ongoing need for direct service, consultation, and/or assessment.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to multidisciplinary team members regarding communication areas of development and any other client-specific issues.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Participate in developmental screenings in the community.

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, clinical, developmental or educational psychology or LMHC/LMFT license eligible.
  • Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Recognition of the importance of, and respect for, confidentiality.
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual required.
