Staff Accountant

Work within a dynamic and fast paced accounting group. Versatile employee to prepare routine journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and special projects as a general accountant supporting the different functional areas of accounting to include: Corporate, Revenue, Expense, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Capital. This requires the ability to adapt and learn quickly.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries as assigned performing backup duties for area specific accountants
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as assigned on a monthly basis to ensure data integrity and timely recording of expenses
• Examine and analyze accounting results, and write variance notes as needed.
• Participate in monthly closing review and complete checklist items as assigned.
• Document accounting processes and procedures as needed.
• Providing assistance to special projects and backup support as assigned
• Support audit tasks as assigned
• Maintain current knowledge of sound accounting procedures and utilizes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Performs other related duties, special projects and ad hoc reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors' Degree finance, accounting, economics, or related field
• 2-4 years relevant work experience
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel; knowledge of financial systems a plus
• Ability to work in groups and independently having strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet stringent deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
