Urgent Care for Kids by Goodside Health currently has 13 clinic locations across Texas, having 9 clinics in DFW, 2 in Houston and 2 in Austin. Under the Goodside Health brand, we provide healthcare in several delivery verticals- brick and mortar pediatric urgent care, adult and pediatric telemedicine and in SchoolMed, our school-based whole child healthcare service. We currently operate in Texas and Broward County, Florida. The Role


We are on the hunt for sharp and innovative Utility Players for our Round Rock or Cedar Park office who share our core values: Passion, Humility, Adaptability, Nurture, and Experience. These clinicians are typically Certified Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses or Registered Nurses that are the true definition of a team player. The term Utility Player is an all-encompassing title that refers to a clinician that is responsible for covering front desk and reception (including insurance verification and patient registration), back office care, triaging, radiology, curbside labs and many other duties that are essential for our clinics to run smoothly. The Culture and Team

Alongside the Clinic Management team, our clinicians are supported by the Clinical Operations team. This team works closely with the clinics regarding inventory, continuing education and many other things to help our clinics run at optimal excellence. We share wins with each other on our Employee Engagement Platform called Assembly, speak openly with our C-Suite Executives and learn about company updates in our monthly Company Town Halls and receive frequent open surveys from our People Operations team asking for input on employee experience.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Triage patients upon arrival
  • Communicate with the provider that the patient is ready and give a brief verbalization of symptoms and abnormal vitals
  • Documentation and summary of visit in EMR system (eMDs)
  • Assist provider in procedures and patient care including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, phlebotomy, etc.
  • Administer and document medication as directed by the provider
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
  • Obtain labs and call back patients when lab results are in
  • Provider patient education at the end of the visit and answer any follow up questions
  • Position patients for radiology procedures and remove all artifacts (training provided by UC4K)
  • Front office responsibilities & procedures including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, performing monetary transactions, etc.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Monday - Friday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday / Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm


Houston Clinic Hours of Operation:

Saturday / Sunday: 9:00am – 9:00pm

Requirements:
  • Passion for children
  • Experience working in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years and lasted at least 6+ months
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, RMA)
  • LVN - TX License
  • BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by American Heart Association)
  • Knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, EMR software
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
