Robert Half's trusted client is looking for a Plant Controller Consultant, who will have broad business engagement and impact. This long-term engagement is located in Port Huron, MI and will report directly to the Plant Director.


The day-to-day responsibilities include:


  • Ongoing review of actual spend against budget and direct necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls
  • Direct budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and tools for all accountable programs
  • Attain awareness of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
  • Comparison of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls
  • Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
  • Collaborate with the Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
  • Review and monitor that controls are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:


  • Proven ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication
  • Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
  • Excellent efficiency in office and accounting computer systems
  • Implement and improve changes in procedures immediately
  • Full Cycle Payroll experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
  • Proficiency in Annual Financial Reporting
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
  • CPA and/or CMA preferred
  • 7+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
  • Good understanding of ERP system is highly valued
