Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a Purchasing Assistant. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department. In order to be successful in this position, you must have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. The ideal Purchasing Assistant will have previous purchasing or procurement experience and a desire to advance their career. Are you looking to start your career in procurement? Responsibilities

- Assess supplier profiles and examine offers

- Process and prepare purchase orders

- Develop and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)

- Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services

- Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices

- Track inventory levels and decide on purchase needs

- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts

- Manage records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments- Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and inventory management software programs

- Must be very organized and skilled in documentation

- High school diploma or GED required

- Must have strong research skills and excellent analytical thinking

- Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position

- Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred
