About the Role:

As a Director, Media Relations, you will take responsibility of and accountability for the client relationship and programs for anything related to media on your assigned accounts. You will lead media efforts across multiple accounts and manage the development of others through training, mentoring, and coaching. This is a hybrid role and will report to the SVP Media Relations.

You Will:

• Effectively manage all aspects of media projects including strategic direction
• Serve as trusted client media contact, ensuring multiple communications touchpoints
• Provide media value to clients beyond their expectations
• Thoughtfully counsel clients based on broad media relations landscape and business goals
• Play a major role in overseeing development of all client media deliverables
• Apply a high attention to detail to all media materials delivered to the client to ensure error-free outputs
• Identify ways to improve efficiency on media projects to improve profitability
• Take an active role in media staffing plans for core clients
• Understand key issues to be considered when making decisions and is not afraid to highlight them if it means the business will be managed better
• Demonstrate mentoring ability and recommend development opportunities for junior employees
• Seek 360 feedback from others and continuously strives to improve oneself
• Identify emerging opportunities to add more value for the client and the company
• Demonstrate effective presentation ability for new business pitches
• Approaches leadership with new ideas about growing the business
• Lead key aspects of client interactions liaison with external partners with confidence and skill

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience in a communications agency setting
• 5+ years in media relations/earned media
• Pharmaceutical communications experience required
• Oncology experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital, or equivalent experience
• Work collaboratively as part of a team
• Experience contributing to driving current or new business growth
• Knowledge of relevant guidelines and legislation as they pertain to health communications (e.g., FDA or ABPI guidelines)
