Visit our website to register:The Phoenix Accounting Clerk II - VA will be responsible for bookkeeping in performing a variety of accounting duties. Duties vary from posting actions to journals, making debit and credit entries, and assigning proper codes. Detailed instructions are provided for difficult or unusual assignments. The Phoenix Accounting Clerk II - VA will be located in Williamsburg, VA.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (hourly)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes moderately complex assignments, using spreadsheets and other software.
- Posts journals entries, identifies subsidiary accounts affected, makes debit and credit entries, and assigns proper codes.
- Reviews documents from various sources and prepares documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data, determines reasons for rejections, and prepares necessary correcting material.
- Works independently and as a team member with excellent communication.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or associate degree in finance/accounting with relevant experience considered.
- One to three years of related accounting experience.
- Strong communication skills, including proactively seeking efficiencies in cost and procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in detailed duties with high attention to detail and in reporting to supervisor.
- Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check, as required.
