Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week - Other hours needed as on call.


The Senior Manager – Pearl River Production is accountable for all planning, manufacturing and other support functions for the Pearl River Plant to achieve safety, environmental, financial, production, and quality goals. The Senior Manager – Pearl River Production is responsible for $18.5 million operating budget and 40+ employees. The Senior Manager – Pearl River Production ensures that all operations at the Pearl River Plant are carried out safely and efficiently to achieve maximum productivity. The Senior Manager – Pearl River Production will measure and collate all operational data (performance, maintenance and cost control), as well as carry out all Green Belt, Process Excellence and related Industrial Engineering needs to reduce costs and ensure continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Work closely with Facilities Engineering and Maintenance for effective management of capital and assets with maximum return on investment.
  • Assures a safe working environment for all employees and inspires Safety efforts to achieve world-class performance. Ensures that all manufacturing locations comply with the Company policies and procedures related to environmental, health & safety. Provides direction to plant management to maintain safe facilities and is intolerant of risky behaviors. Ensures environmental compliance and reporting requirements are met. Facilitate a safe working environment in all production activities at the plant utilizing work teams to achieve a high level of housekeeping via TPM practices.
  • Update plant production plans working with plant process engineering to provide all necessary documentation for the production teams for successful production campaigns. Monitor performance of each production line performance and provide input on optimization of production. Lead production teams to continuous improvement of productions rates using plant process engineering and maintenance resources.
  • Ensure resources are available for teams to produce on-time, quality product while they adhere to company and plant policies. Lead teams in problem solving needs and motivate all teams to achieve plant goals/KPI's. Determine production line organization staffing needs, including overtime. Review and approve Production Documentation (e.g., Log Sheets, Log Book). Review Production Plan and adjust product runs as needed. Ensure that daily shift handover and area team meetings are held where issues are identified and root cause issues addressed.
  • Ensure production team staffing needs are optimal and provide recommendations to plant manager when manpower changes are needed including overtime. Review Production Documentation (e.g., Log Sheets, Logbook, Packaging Logs).
  • Nurture the development of team employees including team leads. Provide input to plant trainer to determine requirements of development for all employees to improve needed skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field from four-year college or university is required.
    • *Will also accept 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing in lieu of education
  • 10+ years Industrial manufacturing is required
  • Manufacturing management is preferred
