Position: Technical Writer - Engineering
Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week


The Technical Writer applies technical writing techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, edit and modify customer facing technical & engineering material required for submittals and manuals on Municipal and Commercial Projects. The Technical Writer is expected to work effectively with multiple Project Managers, Product Managers, and Engineers in professional preparation of materials with time sensitive delivery requirements. The Technical Writer rewrites various sources of information into a uniform style and language adhering to corporate and industry standards, as well as assisting in developing product documentation for Operation and Maintenance of technical equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Support Engineering Management efforts as required such as new product launch documentation, brochures, etc.
  • Support documentation of safety procedures and policies as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Create and modify Operation & Maintenance Manuals for assigned projects as directed. Gather information, analyze subject and audience, and produce clear documentation.
  • Support and create customer submittal information of open projects as required. Collate as necessary all internal documents and data to support project management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required
  • 2-3 years Writing/editing technical documentation is required
  • Writing/editing technical documentation/contracts is preferred
