Job Description
RETTEW is currently hiring an accomplished and detail-oriented Traffic Engineer to join our exceptional team. As a Traffic Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, planning, and management of traffic infrastructure projects. Our ideal candidate possesses at least five years of experience, a strong work ethic, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, the ability to collaborate within a team dynamic seamlessly, and adeptness at handling multiple projects. Responsibilities:
- Conduct transportation/ parking impact studies, analyze data, and prepare reports to identify ways to improve safety and traffic flow
- Design and plan traffic control systems, including traffic signals, road signs, pavement markings, and other traffic control devices
- Develop plans for road safety improvements, such as pedestrian crossings and bike lanes
- Work with other engineers, planners, and government officials to coordinate traffic engineering projects
- Review and approve traffic impact studies for new development projects
- Make recommendations for traffic improvements to local government officials
- Attend municipal board meetings and provide testimony.
- Capital improvement planning, including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions
- Stay current with new trends and developments in the traffic engineering field
- Market future clients on traffic engineering solutions and services
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of traffic studies conducted by fellow engineers in municipalities.
- Serve as on-site project representative
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in traffic engineering
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro and Vistro
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in PA
- Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects while meeting multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
