This position is located on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions
  • Install and maintain all types of electrical equipment at the range facilities, including but not limited, to specialized control systems, motor generators, servo systems, digital encoders, uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems, electrical distribution panels, transformers, and large switching equipment connected to high voltage feeders from an on-island power generating stations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits (120vac single phase) in an office setting, as well as, industrial site providing power to areas and equipment (208-460vac 3 phase power).
  • Perform installation, removal and repair of electrical equipment, such as switchgear, transformers, starters, controllers, capacitors, and production equipment power and control systems.
  • Install conduit and wiring; and performs basic modifications to existing facility electrical systems.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call schedule, responding to outages and other events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Experience reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to identify wires by color.
  • Ability to read and comprehend National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical code.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Required Experience
  • Associate’s degree or technical school in electrical or a related field, or apprenticeship, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Eight (8) years’ technical experience in installation, testing, troubleshooting; and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Journeymen’s Electrician License desired.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel and lay horizontally as job may require.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and steps as high as 30 feet.
  • Able to work in tight spaces depending on the maintenance requirement.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • This position is unaccompanied and living accommodations are provided on Roi-Namur.
  • Must relocate and be authorized to live on United States Army Garrison, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kwajalein Driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
