WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Irrigator Equipment Tech will be responsible for maintaining agriculture equipment in the shop as well as out in the field. The ideal candidate will assist the Assistant Manager by performing the required maintenance and repairs on company tractors and irrigation Pivots. Adhere to and support quality regulations and policies in accordance with GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices and established SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

• Maintain and repair irrigation system components such as center pivot systems, surface irrigation, flow meters, motors, pumps, PVC pipes, air vents, flush valves, sprinkler heads etc.

• Operates and maintain pumping and pipeline systems

• Closely monitor all irrigation system operations, making adjustments or changes as necessary

• Install new irrigation and sprinkler systems and removes old systems and recovers reusable equipment as required

  • Assists in the installation, and implementation of new equipment and related systems
  • Monitors gauges, indictors, and related instrumentation and maintain records as necessary, pertaining to systems
  • Collects samples and tests for contents
  • Perform equipment audits and inspections and report findings back to supervisor
  • Replaces and repairs PVC systems

• Repairs and replaces electrical components in a rapid, safe, and effective manner

• Keeps management informed of the day-to-day production and maintains quality control of finished product.

• Maintains work area clean at all times

• Keeps agriculture equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventative maintenance

• Pull water samples and turn into lab as needed.

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of water distribution systems

• Performs other various duties as assigned by Supervisor in support of Water Distribution operations

• Other duties as assigned


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to three years farm labor experience including work with irrigation systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Valid California Driver License

• One to two years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment

• Basic equipment industry training on tractors and irrigation Pivots

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot needed repairs on agriculture equipment, tractors, and irrigation Pivots

• Ability to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral forms

• Good mathematical skills

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and sketches

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Basic knowledge of water chemistry and other basic chemical principles

• Electrical skills needed in dealing with 480V

• Must have good mathematical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of techniques and equipment for commercial irrigating, fertilizing, planting and growing, preferred


Physical Demands:

Environmental exposure-cold/wet conditions (40°ree; or below), heat (99°ree; or above)

• Must be able to lift/push- pull/carry up to 50lbs

• Must be able to work in tight areas that require lifting, bending, climbing up and down large equipment

  • During the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that certain “non-essential worker” personnel may at times store consumer-facing materials (including, but not limited to, EADs, coupons, promotional materials, etc.) offsite from Company locations, such as at associates’ homes or in vehicles. All such consumer-facing materials must be maintained in a smoke-free and secure workplace environment.
