CLASSIFICATION: Full-time. Full-Year. Exempt.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: As a key member of the executive management team, the CFO interacts with senior management and external partners and stakeholders, assuming direct responsibility for the leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team. The CFO provides strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team, manages the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and oversees the preparation of all financial reporting. The CFO advises on long- term business and financial planning, develops financial strategies of the implementation of new and/or expanded programs and coordinates the implementation of the agency’s financial policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & KEY COMPETENCIES: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA or CPA is also highly desirable. At least 6 years' experience in the finance industry and proven leadership and management experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the executive presence to work with senior management, investors and external stakeholders. Able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise good judgment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Valid Ohio Drivers License with good driving record and daily access to private, insured vehicle during working hours. Cannot have more than four (4) points.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Carry forth the Mission statement of MVCDC, Inc.; support the quality management principles; and work toward the agency and program goals.

2. Actively participate in all administrative decision making and strategic planning processes with CEO and members of the Executive Team.

3. Provides leadership, direction & management to the Finance Department personnel.

4. Oversees the accurate and timely completion all required financial and program related reports

5. Directs and manages the annual budget processes, including the short- and long-range financial modeling.

6. Serve as trustee for MVCDC’s employee Profit Sharing/Retirement Plan and exercise fiduciary responsibility for all Profit Sharing/Retirement Plan.

7. Manages the investment of MVCDC corporate funds and all grant funds in conformance with applicable regulations.

8. Interpret federal and state Head Start and all applicable fiscal regulations as they apply to all aspects of MVCDC operations and implement all actions required to achieve financial compliance.

9. Monitors all programs operated by MVCDC for compliance with funding requirements; report any discrepancies and follow-up to ensure that corrective action has been taken; ensure all financial reporting requirements are met and disseminate required/requested reports to appropriate MVCDC staff and community agencies.

10. Ensures risk management practices and internal controls are followed.

11. Presents financial reports to Board of Trustees, Policy Council and appropriate funding sources.

12. Maintains involvement in professional associations and organizations.

13. Facilitates Board of Trustees finance committee meetings.

14. Represents MVCDC professionally, both in manner and dress, to staff, parents, volunteers, the community, Board of Trustees, Policy Council, etc.

15. Adheres to agency standards of conduct and confidentiality policies.

16. Performs other duties as assigned to assist in providing quality services for children and families.
