Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining ESRI-ArcGIS databases related to environmental, and operational data.
  • Prepare plats, maps, build queries, and create reports from spatial data and data bases.
  • Prepare written responses, maps, and data analysis for permit applications, mine plan revisions, or other technical responses; as well as for other environmental reports and projects as needed.
  • Work in conjunction with environmental/engineering staff and ND Public Service Commission staff, ND Trust Lands, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, and other state or federal agencies in information of these responses.
  • Responsible for the mine's wildlife monitoring program and reporting program.  Lead engagement with the ND Game and Fish and US Fish and Wildlife personnel.
  • Perform data collection relating to environmental compliance as needed in the field.
  • Responsible for daily contractor obligations related to reclamation/environmental contractors on site, contract farmers/ranchers, or other contractors under the direction of the environmental manager.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Zoology, Agronomy, Soils, Botany, or Range Science
  • Three years' experience of either reclamation or ArcGIS and field experience
