SUMMARY OF POSITION

As the Bell Person at Kenwood Inn and Spa, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. The Bell Person will be outgoing, personable, caring, and attentive - eager to go above and beyond to impress our guests and ensure they are well taken care of. You will be  responsible for giving each guest a tour of the grounds and showing them to their room, carrying baggage, delivering requested items to rooms, and fulfilling and delivering food and beverage orders. The Bell Person must be articulate and able communicate well with guests and other departments.  

You’ll be the face that warmly greets them, helps them plan an amazing getaway, answers questions, resolves issues, and ultimately plays a critical role in making their stay enjoyable.

WHEN WE NEED YOU

  • Schedule #1: Friday & Saturdays 12:30pm-9pm
  • Schedule #2: Saturday 11:30am-8pm & Sunday 12:30pm-9pm

WHAT YOU’LL DO  (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Is friendly and professional with guests and fellow team members at all times.
  • Has a positive attitude and is graceful and level headed at all times, even during stressful and/or busy periods.
  • Seeks out opportunities to wow guests, going above and beyond.
  • Greets guests of the inn with eye contact, a sincere smile and a personal greeting.
  • Reads chatbook and notes upon arrival and is fully aware of all that is required during shift.
  • Regularly checks all common and storage areas and maintains them in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintains the beverage bar by making fresh coffee, boiling water, and refilling items on an as-needed basis. 
  • When walking around property, picks up trash, restocks supplies and tidies at all times.
  • Gives a complete tour of the hotel’s grounds, including pool, warming pool, wine bar, and breakfast room; informs guests of breakfast and wine hour times.
  • Explains  how to use features of the guestroom.
  • Prepares food and beverage orders in the kitchen and plates/presents them according to guidelines. Delivers food and beverage to guestrooms or common areas.
  • Follows the checklist step by step and thoroughly completes all responsibilities every shift.
  • Brings any substandard conditions, including potential safety hazards to the attention of the Manager or Front Desk Person.
  • Turns in all lost and found articles to the Front Office.
  • Must be flexible in scheduling and able to effectively communicate with Manager, Assistant Manager, co-workers and guests and helps to create a positive teamwork environment.
  • Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
  • Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and encourages others to do the same.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must work some weekends and company recognized holidays. 

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and auto insurance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months of related experience and/or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with management and other employees of Four Sisters Inns.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense to various issues that arise on a regular basis.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
