KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions. KVC is seeking to hire an RYAC Coordinator!!! The RYAC Coordinator will promote, support, and encourage youth, foster parents, other case management providers, tribes, KDOC-JS in RYAC/KYAC involvement in meetings and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Facilitate Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for youth, foster parents, case management providers, tribes, and KDOC-JS (Kansas Department of Corrections - Juvenile Services) regarding RYAC and KYAC involvement. Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained.
  • Promotion and Advocacy: Actively promote RYAC and KYAC participation among eligible individuals and organizations. Advocate for the importance of youth involvement in decision-making processes within relevant meetings and events.
  • Coordination of Meetings and Events: Organize and coordinate RYAC and KYAC meetings, events, and activities. Ensure logistical arrangements are made, agendas are prepared, and participants are informed in a timely manner.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide support, guidance, and resources to youth, foster parents, and other stakeholders interested in participating in RYAC and KYAC activities. Address any questions, concerns, or barriers they may encounter.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Foster partnerships and collaborations with relevant stakeholders including other youth organizations, community groups, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations to enhance RYAC and KYAC involvement opportunities.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of RYAC and KYAC activities, attendance, and outcomes. Prepare regular reports detailing participation rates, achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Organize training sessions, workshops, and educational opportunities to empower youth and stakeholders with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective participation in RYAC and KYAC initiatives.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Conduct evaluations of RYAC and KYAC activities to assess their impact and effectiveness. Utilize feedback from participants to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing RYAC and KYAC operations. Stay informed about any updates or changes to guidelines and communicate them to stakeholders as needed.
  • Representation: Serve as a representative of RYAC and KYAC in external meetings, conferences, and forums. Articulate the mission, goals, and accomplishments of the councils to raise awareness and garner support.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field from an accredited college or university

Licensure/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required

Experience:

Two or more years of experience with children and family services

Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Skills:

Two or more years of experience in psychiatric/residential treatment programs

KS BSRB licensure
