San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full-time CMA to join our team at the La Jara Medical Clinic. The CMA must be educated and trained to perform administrative and clinical functions in a clinic setting.

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant Program.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Prior medical reception and/or clinical experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate in a written and oral manner.
• Working knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures that are applicable to work performed as well as working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts

The successful candidate may have responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Take medical histories and record vital signs.
• Answer telephones, greet patients, and manage all correspondence professionally.
• Update and file patient medical records.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Other applicable duties as assigned
