Oboe Specialist

Position Overview

Aid in the manufacturing of Fox Products woodwind instruments by fitting keys, padding, and adjusting woodwind instruments. Assist in the development of final assembly personnel in finishing departments. While this is a manufacturing operations job, one may also be asked to assist the Sales & Marketing department with dealer communication when necessary and cultivate relationships with leading influencers and Artists as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Assess whether each Fox Products instrument meeting current standards
2. Adjust padded woodwind instruments to current specifications
3. Ensure pads are seated and create a proper seal
4. Ensure connections, key fits, and spring tensions meet current specifications
5. Participate in cross-functional team to help define best practices
6. Represent Fox Products positively to the music community
7. Clearly understand and communicate outside feedback to the Fox Marketing & Development teams
8. Operate light machinery, drill motors, reamers, sanders and buffers
9. Operate small hand and power tools
10. Properly utilize measuring tools, calipers, and scale
11. Perform focused work on small parts with high level of attention to detail and quality
12. Provide leadership within the department. Assist with moving the business forward through positive change and helping with the development of others
13. Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Music or higher. Woodwind Performance or Education Preferred
2. Ability to play at a high level
3. Strong mechanical knowledge
4. Ability to visualize an assembly and understand how the components fit together
5. Demonstrate knowledge of policies, standards, operations, cleaning and maintenance techniques
6. Show initiative and make suggestions on operational procedure and conditions
7. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in many mediums
8. Disciplined, detail oriented, punctual, and quality minded
9. Empathetic and positive attitude
10. Organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills
11. Self-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
