JOB SUMMARY – STATE REGISTERED NURSE AIDE (SRNA)

The State Registered Nurse Aide (Nursing Assistant, SRNA) is responsible to the Unit Manager, Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse. Successful SRNA candidate will provide quality care for residents in Skilled Nursing Unit, short term rehab or Dementia Care Unit at Sayre Healthcare Center on the campus of Sayre Christian Village. Successful SRNA candidate will perform according to the facility and nursing department policies and procedures, and state/federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for a SRNA

  • Responsible for providing quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.
  • Responsible for providing individualized attention, which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychological well-being.
  • Attending to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individual’s care requirements.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS for a SRNA

  • 2-3 years of experience preferred but not required in areas including but not limited to Skilled Nursing Facility, Dementia Care, Short Term Rehabilitation, or Orthopedics
  • Kentucky State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB for a SRNA

  • Frequently communicates with employees, residents, family members, etc.
  • Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently remains in a standing position.
  • Frequently stoops, kneels, or bends when assisting residents and co-workers with resident needs.
  • Must be able to use all body limbs up to 100 percent capacity.
