Blue Mountain Hospital, located in Blanding, Utah, seeking a Ultrasonographer. This is a full time position and will include health, dental, and a 403b retirement program. This position will require some weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the appropriate exam is performed based on physician's orders and patient history.
  • Verifies and enters/selects patient demographics.
  • Provides accurate and consistent patient education and explanation of exam.
  • Performs ultrasound examinations, tailoring exams based upon findings and most likely diagnosis.
  • Updates patient logs and submit billing.
  • Ensures operation of equipment and coordinates necessary maintenance.
  • Assists with training of student sonographers, residents, and fellows.
  • Assists physicians with invasive procedures.

  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
    • Ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
    • Ability to provide care to the population served.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrate human relations and effective communication skills.

    • Qualifications Licenses Required
      • ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technician R.T. ( R) (ARRT).
      • Experience in CT or willingness to learn.
      • Experience in Breast Sonography or the willingness to learn.
      • One of the following
      • Current ARRT Registration for Sonography (S).
      • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Abdomen specialty (AB) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
      • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an OB/GYN specialty (OB/GYN) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
      • Equivalent on the job experience and working towards certification.
