Engineering Manager
$100,000.00/Year
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY 
Lead DBG organization in achieving optimum process capability and quality that will meet or exceed Customer expectations. Provide support and research for all processes to optimize utilization of the equipment.

Core Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the Engineering Team on Program Launches, Engineering Projects related to Manufacturing, Welding, Lean and Paint.
  • Being the primary liaison between customer, suppliers, and internal departments of DBG
  • Responding immediately with clear and concise communication to customers and internal departments
  • Supporting the engineering team on Contract Review, Design Reviews & Tooling Review meetings for each program
  • Supporting the selection of vendors and purchase of equipment, fixtures, and gauge.
  • Supporting the design of gauges and assembly fixtures
  • Ensuring that all reviews are completed on company forms and the team follows company ISO and TS procedures.
  • Ensuring designed processes meets or exceeds quoted benchmarks for safety, ergonomics, efficiency, quality, and costs.
  • Creating Budget Trackers, maintaining expenses trackers and ensuring that program expenses are within budgeted costs.
  • Creating Gantt Charts using Microsoft Projects, updating % completion and ensuring that milestones are met.
  • Using the weekly APQP meetings to update program statuses to team.
  • Maintaining an Open Issues tracker and reviewing activities and tasks with APQP team daily to ensure that the tasks are completed on time.
  • Attending APQP meetings with suppliers to communicate expectations.
  • Facilitating group discussions and problem-solving activities to mitigate risks and resolve technical problems
  • Creating technical presentations to customers which includes program updates, tooling updates, engineering changes & GD&T proposals.
  • Using Creative win-win communication.  (customers / suppliers accept and understand the benefits to all concerned)
  • Tracking all Engineering Change Requests and following them through completion
  • Working with engineering team to develop processes & poke yoke's for KCC, QCI, KPCs and key features
  • Leading the tooling teams on new builds and engineering changes
  • Supporting operations teams on new program launches and engineering changes.
  • Reviewing PPAPs with Quality team and ensuring that information is comprehensive and complete prior to submission.
  • Maintaining an electronic program binder with evidence of important documents
  • Completing all PPAPs on time with strict adherence to APQP processes.
Knowledge and Education
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering or related field or strong technical background.
  • Strong technical knowledge, particularly in the areas of Stamping, welding, and assembly.
  • Able to read automotive product prints and clear knowledge of GD&T
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience, in the manufacturing industry as Launch manager or 5 years of related experience, in the automotive industry as Project Engineer
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
  • Good computer skills and working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to lead and work independently as well as within a group
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CAD software is an asset.
  • Implementation of lean manufacturing will be an asset.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 5 Years   -    Experience with leading teams in various Engineering disciplines
Computer skills – MRP, SAP, Windows - Excel, Project Management, PowerPoint, Word
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS 
Must be able to positively influence production personnel, collect information from Q.A., Engineering, Purchasing and Sales. Work closely with vendors of parts and machinery. Work very closely with all departments.

COMPLEXITY OF TASKS 
Requires in-depth analysis of product and machine capability and material flow.
Assist Central Engineering with design processes and layouts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 
Engineering Team
Assist Process Engineers to support associates and members of various Problems Solving/ Continuous Improvement teams.
