Project Manager/Application Engineer

Job Description:

This is a dual role that combines Project Management and Sales Interface responsibilities. The Project Manager/Application Engineer will be a key liaison between our technical teams and customers, ensuring the successful execution of projects and providing valuable technical expertise to support sales efforts. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Interface:

1. Collaborate with the sales team to assist in the quoting process, including cost estimating and providing technical insights.
2. Act as a technical advisor to customers, addressing their inquiries and providing solutions that align with their needs.
3. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as a trusted point of contact.
4. Contribute to the development of engineered solutions in collaboration with the Application team.
5. Future management of the inside sales team.

Project Management:

1. Develop comprehensive project plans that identify resource and budgetary requirements.
2. Host regular project meetings with cross-functional teams and managers to ensure alignment and progress.
3. Provide continuous feedback, guidance, project updates, and motivation to team members.
4. Manage project deadlines and drive the team to meet project milestones on time.
5. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
6. Demonstrate leadership qualities, including motivation techniques and conflict resolution.
7. Utilize computer literacy for spreadsheets and word processing software for documentation and reporting.
8. Effectively manage time, including calendar management and goal setting.
9. Maintain a deep understanding of the work being done by each team member.
10. Apply knowledge of project management processes and contribute to the development of new processes as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management and application engineering.
• Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to customer sites when required.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.
