Job Description

The Foster Care Case Manager (FCCM) provides case management to children and their families who have been placed in out-of-home care by the court system.

The FCCM is responsible for the development and implementation of permanency plans for children who are in the custody of the Children’s Division.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science or related degree
  • Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment.
  • FCCM I – Two (2) years related work experience (not applicable to KC FCCM)
  • FCCM II – Three (3) years related work experience or master’s degree in a related field

Schedule and Compensation:

You'll be on a team based out of our Lebanon, MO office. This is position is hybrid schedule with remote work options. Most of the working hours take place in the field, with only 1-3 days in office for supervision and other work-related meetings.

Job Duties:

  • Provide, coordinate, and facilitate all services necessary to support the permanency goal for the children in care.
  • Provide for the safety and needs assessments, resource acquisition transportation and visitation, court reports, and authorization of funds for services to family members.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of permanency plans for children who are in the custody of the Children’s Division.
  • Helps parents improve their ability to care for their children.
  • Helps children and families plan for and adjust to transitions.
  • Facilitates permanency and family connections.
  • Intervenes on behalf of abused and neglected children and their families.
  • Testifies in court as may be required in cases managed by the contractor.
  • Recruits and evaluates resource homes ability as caregivers and develop a collaborative relationship with foster parents.
  • Assists foster parents and kinship caregivers to provide a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Works with community members and collaborate with other disciplines in service delivery to the child and family.
