POSITION DESCRIPTION - TEMPORARY PART-TIME



TITLE: 1833 Shop Sales Support Representative

FUNCTION: Sales

REPORTS TO: Retail and Direct-to-Consumer Merchandising Manager


Summary Description:


The individual in this position is responsible for promoting and selling our products in the 1833 Shop. This position requires frequent contact with visitors, tour guides, customer service, and other internal team members, as necessary.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Display a "customer is the priority" mindset at all times.
  2. Engage with the customer to answer any questions and assist with purchase selection.
  3. Manage stocking of 1833 Shop items and maintain store cleanliness and order.
  4. Set up and organize displays.
  5. Process sales transactions at the check-out kiosk.
  6. Assist with inventory management (including cycle counting).
  7. Treat coworkers and visitors equally without regard to race, age, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, alienage, ancestry, citizenship status, sex, marital status, arrest record, gender identity, veteran status, disability or handicap, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
  8. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Retail and Direct-to-Consumer Merchandising Manager.

Position Requirements:


  • 1-2 years of retail experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral & written)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Must be able to maneuver around the sales floor, back room, and office areas.
