JOB TITLE: Warehouse Assistant Shipping
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY: This position receives, stores, and distributes materials to the plant. Loads and unloads trailers. Prepares shipments. May work in production between warehouse responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Read production schedule or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
· Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
· Sorts and places materials or items on pallets, racks or shelves.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs
· Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
· Moves materials via handheld device in software program which records into computer system; Maintains inventory records.
· Operates pallet jacks or forklifts to transport items.
· May be required to sort and segregate product.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience using a handheld device for inventory software program.
· Forklift experience preferred.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the organization.
· Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide with the use of a calculator.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with simple problems that arise at work.
· To perform this job an individual should have knowledge of internet software, inventory software, and spreadsheet software.

Starting wage for this position is $15.50. Wage is based on experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk constantly; use of hands, wrist and arms continually, ability to reach at or above shoulder occasionally, below shoulder frequently.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; boxes weighing 50 – 60# occasionally, lifts over 60# require two employees.
· The employee may regularly move product racks in excess of 500# in/out of trailers and coolers via push/pull and use of pallet jacks.
· While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
