Job Requirements
Gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
The ideal candidate will understand the hazards of various gases, size, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks and will follow all DOT, CGA, OSHA, and Cylinder Recyclers standards.
Comply with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Ability to safely operate a forklift.
Clean Background Check.
Clean Drug Test.
Must be able to lift, bend, crouch and lift 45 pounds consistently, up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours or more per shift and must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Job Specific Duties
- Operate & safely maintain equipment for blowing down, pumping, or repackaging gases into cylinders or bulk tanks
- Removing valves with a valve machine
- Perform all required inspection & test before cylinders are safely scrapped
- Regularly inspect & maintain pumping apparatus & associated pressure gages & monitoring devices
- Responsible for loading & unloading cylinders on assigned trucks
- Checking identification, labels, valves, styles of cylinders
- Follow required procedures to ensure safe storage of all cylinder products
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, & other warehouse equipment
