Job Description
SMH Consultants, P.A. (SMH) is a growing 35-year-old civil engineering and land surveying company with primary areas of expertise in land development and surveying. Company-wide, SMH has 37 full-time employees throughout its headquarters office in Manhattan, KS, and additional offices in Dodge City, KS; Kansas City; and Colorado Springs, CO. Our company is seeking a permanent, entry-level Civil Engineer position to work in our Manhattan, KS SMH office. In this position, you will work with the team to create designs related to land development, transportation, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, hydrology, and storm sewers. Qualifications and responsibilities include:
Qualifications:
- Educational and/or practical experience with engineering designs
- Must be able to obtain Intern Engineer status by passing the Intern Engineer practical test within 6-months of employment
- Internship experience
- Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and engineering design experience (educational or professional) in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Utilizing software packages such as Autodesk products
Responsibilities:
- Working with managers to assemble engineering designs related to streets, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure
- Interpreting topographic surveys from information collected in the field
- Coordinating data collection with field surveyors
Compensation will range from $65,000-$75,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
