Engineering Manager - Carolina, Puerto Rico
Assigns and leads the daily tasks of Process Technicians, Tooling Technicians, and Maintenance Technicians. Develop customer programs from the sales request through production release, partnering with both internal and external resources to ensure success.
Primary Functions- Manages customer projects in strict adherence to procedures, engineering project templates, and ISO guidelines.
- Creates program plans, schedules, PFMEAs, and task lists to assure delivery, quality and cost objectives.
- Gathers information related to customer and product specifications. Works with technical team to ensure internal and external expectations are met.
- Coordinates design efforts for customer molds and equipment, ensures implementation of design and constructions standards and guidelines for molds and custom equipment, and coordinates into production.
- Coordinates the evaluation of customer equipment and recommends, documents and implements improvement.
- Assures validation of equipment and processes where required.
- Serves as customer liaison through program life cycle.
- Coordinates facility layouts.
- Writes capital approval requests.
- Attends account calls to support the sales team.
- Bachelor of Science Degree or five years in design in plastic injection molding industry.er
- Proficiency in CAD operations.
- Processing background with organizational and planning skills.
- Skills to develop unique and novel solutions to the design of plastic parts.
Environment: Normal manufacturing environments; work with machinery and media in or around confined spaces; exposure to chemicals, grease and oils.
Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing; standing for moderate periods of time.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Other: Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
