Job Summary


This seasonal position involves various duties assisting the Food & Beverage Supervisor with the Food and Beverage operations for Boone County Golf Courses. This person is responsible for assisting with the food and beverage operations in and around the golf courses, including clubhouse rental promotions and catering of events and any other special events as approved by the Director of Golf Operations. An employee in this position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Supervisor.

This person must be a team builder who works toward consensus, be computer literate, be self- motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.



Major Essential Functions


  • Assist the Food & Beverage Supervisor in planning and coordinating the concession counter as well as ordering food and keeping the kitchen and counter areas clean and well organized.
  • Assist with food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
  • Assist in the monitoring of employee and patron activities to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity. Maintain and purchase food and equipment inventories and keep inventory records.
  • Assist with training new concession staff in use of computer system to a professional level and work with the Food & Beverage Supervisor in training and developing staff in customer service area.
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Supervisor in estimating food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with health department regarding food storage, preparation, service, and beer/liquor licenses. Keep records required by agencies regarding sanitation and food subsidies when appropriate.
  • Perform food preparation or service tasks such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks.
  • Linecook and special event experience preferred.


Relationships

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manger performs duties within the Golf Course Concessions and Pro-Shop, under the direct supervision of the Food & Beverage Supervisor.



Requirements:

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of a high school or equivalent supplemented by a minimum of 2 years in Food & Beverage management/ industry experience.


Language Skills

  • Ability to read and follow policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations.
  • Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints from regulatory agencies, business community members, and suppliers of goods and services.
  • Ability to display strong oral, written, and listening skills.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratio and percentage.


Reasoning Skills

  • Solve practical problems while dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of complex technical and instructional information.
  • Make decisions which serve the best interest of the County and impact the areas over which authority is exerted.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Possession of, or promptly obtain, a proper motor vehicle operator's license for type of equipment operated.
  • Must have the ability to promptly obtain and maintain a food service manager permit. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.


Other Knowledge and/or Skills

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in high stress situations.

Compensation details: 20-20 Hourly Wage
