Description:

Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing and monitoring all activities, duties, and responsibilities of the Residential Advisors on assigned shift and ensuring compliance with PRH requirements for the Residential Department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises residential program and ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner.
  • Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
  • Directs and plans for the Social Development Department's needs. Manages the activities of residential living to ensure that students needs are met.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and employee training sessions.
  • Provides monthly and weekly activity reports to Center Management, including Social Development Director, Deputy Center Director, Center Director, and weekend Duty Officer.
  • Ensures orderly and clean-living conditions are maintained in dormitories, while promoting self-discipline and an awareness of others by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring staff and student behavior according to the Career Success Standards.
  • Oversees social skills and student leadership sessions and provides guidance as appropriate.
  • Assists students in handling special problems and conducts dormitory meetings, including collaboration with other departments when necessary to ensure that student issues and concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Conducts regular audits of student Residential files and staff shift reports and provides feedback to ensure compliance.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.
  • Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, arrest, trouble at home and other traumatic experiences.
  • Responsible for insuring that departmental equal employment and affirmative action goals and objectives are met.
  • Interviews and selects staff.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency and two years' experience working with youth and young adults.

Preferred: Minimum plus previous Job Corps experience.

Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to disadvantaged youths. Must be able to obtain a State driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid & AED certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff, and model professional behaviors to set the standard for how students and staff should conduct themselves on a consistent basis.
