What’s the OPPORTUNITY? – Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Information Technology

The role of the AVP of Information Technology is crucial in overseeing the technological operations of a credit union. This position involves leading a team of IT professionals and ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of all information systems, infrastructure, and technology solutions. Collaborating with senior management is also an important aspect of the position to align technology initiatives with the credit union's overall strategic goals.

The AVP of Information Technology is responsible for developing and implementing the IT strategy that aligns with the credit union's short-term and long-term business goals. This includes overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and telecommunications systems. Another important responsibility is to develop and implement comprehensive security measures to safeguard member data, confidential information, and digital assets.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define IT project scope, deliverables, and timelines is also part of the job, as is managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers. This includes contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.

The AVP of Information Technology will have the opportunity to drive technology innovation, ensure the security and reliability of the credit union's IT infrastructure, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. What Can You Bring?

The minimum qualifications for the AVP of Information Technology position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the financial services or credit union industry.
  • Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and telecommunications systems.
  • Proven experience in information security management and risk assessment.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
