Hartzell Propeller Inc.

Hartzell Propeller is the leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems for general aviation, supplying propeller systems for aircraft manufacturers and modifiers around the world. Key Responsibilities

Hartzell seeks an IT Systems Administrator to support end-users on the use of IT systems and software applications and to resolve technical issues and incidents promptly and efficiently. In addition, this position is responsible to perform regular system maintenance updates and backups and to set up new users and manager user accounts and access permissions. It is important that IT policies, procedures and standards and maintained and documented. On Occasion, the IT Systems Administrator may be tasked to support the other businesses in the Tailwind family and should have flexibility to travel to the other Tailwind sites. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills along with a customer focused attitude and excellent communication skills as this position is required to support both office and shop floor personnel. While not a requirement of the position, a certification in CCNA or Network Plus would be beneficial.


Key Deliverables of the Position:

  • Respond to user-based inquiries to provide first-line technical support, such as troubleshooting software issues, hardware set up, etc. Support provided by phone, email, and/or in person.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, switches, firewalls, and other network peripherals.
  • Stay abreast of updated software and technology options and make recommendations for implementation to further enhance the technological environment at Hartzell.
    • Monitor system performance, diagnose problems, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement new systems, upgrades, and enhancements.
    • Communicate issues to all IT team members, provide oversight, knowledge and input.

  • Able to work independently through most issues, but efficiently communicate and/or escalate to other team members when necessary.
  • Able to manage time effectively and understand the priority of issues/projects in a manufacturing based environment.
Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Network Administration, Information Technology, or related field w/ a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical support role. Network administration experience is preferred

Required Technical Competencies

1) Strong technical skills in hardware, software and networking.

2) Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

3) Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and/or Dell networking infrastructure.

4) Network administration experience, Network+ or CCNA certification is a plus.

5) Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.


Desired Secondary Technical Competencies

1) ERP manufacturing software (Mapics)

2) VoIP phone system

3) Networking manufacturing devices (production machines, PLC's, etc.)

4) Mobile technologies

5) Knowledge of robotics in a manufacturing environment
