Paraprofessional- Full-Time- Springfield, IL

Compensation: $18.55/hour

Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. Paraprofessional Essential Duties:

  • Support students in a classroom setting at the Hope Learning Academy and complete appropriate data tracking and entry.
  • Provide instruction and assistance that meets students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives.
  • Encourage student independence while following the classroom schedule and implementing educational programs.
  • Foster a stimulating, accepting, and safe learning environment for all students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Must hold or attain Paraprofessional licensure for Illinois.
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s license.
  • Successful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, and run.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an education or human services related field.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working in a classroom setting.
