The Manager, Front-line Sales, oversees a sales team (Canvassers) that travels to designated territories going door-to-door and reciting sales scripts with the goal of setting initial appointments to help convert prospects into customers. The canvassing manager works collaboratively with other sales team members to achieve collective sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, coach and inspire team of Front-line Sales Representatives (Canvassers) to consistently meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
- Plan canvassing strategy, coordinate calendars and drive routes for sales team
- Document all sales activity in database with a high degree of accuracy and correctness
- Track and evaluate canvassing team performance
- Develop rapport and build relationships with existing and potential customers
- Ensure team members follow proper procedures and scripts
- Assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training; conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Effectively deliver in-person sales pitch (script provided) in compliance with established company procedures and standards when necessary
- Attend department meetings, keep current on sales information, products, and industry trends
- Be a team player and assist all sales team members where needed for success of the entire sales team across all companies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Supervisor experience with a focus on internal goals, team performance and employee retention
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of background check
- Ability to overcome objections and perform within a short sales cycle
- Ability to present sales pitch in a professional manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs
- Highly motivated and ability to be persistent
- Positive attitude within a high-energy environment
- Good communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Team player (member of a sales crew)
- Familiarity with tablets, Apple iPads (iPadOS)
