Experienced Machinist - Direct Hire

Seeking a new opportunity with great pay? Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading welding company in Sauk Rapids, MN. We are seeking candidates for Machinist positions on the 1st shift. Hours for this shift are 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation for this direct hire opportunity is $26.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information.

Company Summary

This company’s dedicated and knowledgeable team’s welding, machining, and manufacturing experiences allows them to manage and build projects on time while keeping the clients specifications in mind. They have a “can-do” attitude with the capacity to quickly scale operations to support their customers welding requirements.

What you will do as a Machinist:

• Read and interpret prints and routings
• Obtain materials from the staging area
• Use appropriate set up techniques for a variety of parts and weldments in a job shop environment
• Set up tooling and set machine zeros using probes, indicators, tooling balls, etc.
• Performs adjustments through the machining process to meet quality requirements
• Monitor machining process for things such as tool wear, appropriate speeds and feeds, and production efficiency
• Perform appropriate inspection processes utilizing a variety of machine and hand inspection tools, surface plates, micrometers, indicators, thread gauges, etc.
• Unload machine and stages material in appropriate areas

What you need to be a Machinist:

• Technical College Diploma
• 3+ years of relevant experience as a Machinist
• Previous experience in metal fabrication
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and coding
• Shop based mathematics and geometric skills
• Willingness to maintain a level 1 certification of crane and forklift
