About this job
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with a focus on precision sheet metal processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications for accuracy to develop sheet metal programs for CNC punch, laser and press brake operations.
• Responsible for editing existing programs when changes made by customer for product revisions.
• Review work order for accuracy and proper flow through manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Planning. Estimating, Customer Support and Machining departments to ensure proper fabrication of parts.
• Strong working knowledge of sheet metal lay-out to include the application in concepts such as bend deductions and bend allowances to complete flat pattern development.
• Strong understanding and development of shop routings and conveying manufacturing instructions through drawings and other documentation is essential.
• Submit SPS to the customer to clarify design issues and recommend alternate solution that exceed the requirements.
• Interpret prints and solid models accurately.
• Utilize CAD/CAM packages to generate CNC code from solid models.
• Program using AMADA AP100 and AMADA 3i Bending software.
• Develop programs for new products, ensuring compliance with quality policies, specifications, and regulations.
• Timely completion of input and output department files.
• Create programs for lasers, turrets, and press brakes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma and seven to ten years directly related experience.
• Seven to ten years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems is essential.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
