Job Description

Department/function size

  • New Community Sales Coverage model executed in 2022 to establish 8 regions across the U.S. Each region has 4-5 Account Executives assigned to support local clients. The Community team is 40 members strong across the U.S. and a highly collaborative team.

Department structure

  • Celeste Schwitters - SVP, Head of Community Accounts
  • 8 Regions led by 8 Regional VPs
  • 4-5 Account Executives within each region
  • Net New Sales opportunities (brand flips from MasterCard) are owned by the regions

Main purpose of the function

  • The Community team is responsible for creating a strategy to grow client and Visa revenue, while also strengthening executive relationships through identifying and implementing profitable strategic growth opportunities. With the new regional focus, the team will provide a local presence in the region and ensure Visa is visible in the community these clients serve. Positive engagements with local leaders, politicians, banking and credit union associations, and small businesses are critical to deepen Visa's impact within our local communities.

Measures and ROI

  • AANR and PV growth within assigned regional geography
  • Increase and maintain Visa's shares of client business and associated incremental revenue by identifying and selling new product (VAS), marketing and innovation opportunities
  • Support team on contract negotiation, closing, execution, and managing contractual obligations
  • Ensure timely response to client needs and questions - excellent and clear communication skills that include problem solving / issues management
  • Main interaction points (external and internal stakeholders)
  • Bi-weekly Community team meeting
  • Weekly Regional team meeting
  • Weekly 1:1s with Regional VP
  • Regular client calls - mix of sales calls, business reviews, and community engagements

What value it brings to Visa

  • The Community team includes a large and varied client base across various products including consumer debit, consumer credit, consumer cobrand credit, commercial, small business debit and credit, prepaid, acquiring and DPS.
  • Optimize and drive client and Visa revenue across all Community issuers
  • Create and align Visa's payments innovation vision and strategy to ensure Community clients remain competitive with larger issuer and new emerging fintech players

Essential Functions

This is a sales support role within theU.S. Financial Institution Sales organization, specifically Community Sales, a team dedicated to strengthening Community issuer partnerships across North America. This Intern will be tasked with supporting various projects through multiple sprints.

These projects may include:

  • Supporting sales, contract renewal and merger & acquisition Account Executive activities. Key sales focus will include CIO targets across all regions.
  • Developing a go-to-market strategy for new or existing products and services.
  • Creating content to be presented to clients or internal stakeholders.
  • Researching key process improvements to improve overall sale effectiveness
  • Tracking sales pipeline statuses within CRM software and communicating updates to sales team.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Communication or related field graduating December 2024 or later

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY:The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $21.00 to $26.00, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements:This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
