We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. As an organization that combines expertise developed from the daily practice of immigration law with a deep commitment to advocacy, RAICES is unique among immigration organizations. We provide a holistic approach to immigrants. RAICES not only assists immigrants in navigating through complicated immigration laws, but we also assist immigrants with social needs through case management and providing assistance with housing. COVID-19 Response

Protecting the health and safety of employees and clients remains essential. We currently practice social distancing and encourage masks in all public areas. RAICES is using a phased-in approach to return staff to resume in-office operations.

This position will require working remotely and in-office at the assigned work location. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.

PLEASE NOTE: All employees are assigned to an office location. The expectation is that you live within the area to commute to and from the office as business or client needs require.

The Refugee Resettlement Assistant Director is responsible to support the management of RAICES' Refugee Client Services, including program compliance (federally, on the state level, and internal requirements), staff management and coaching, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and growth of the programs. The Refugee Resettlement Assistant Director directly supervises the RAICES Refugee Resettlement Program Managers, Administrative Assistants,
Data Management Specialists, and Refugee Resettlement Coordinators.

Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in all aspects of refugee resettlement programs, including case management, housing assistance, employment support, education, healthcare access, and community integration of RR grants assigned to RAICES by USCRI or TXOR-West.
  • Implements and maintains the department's quality assurance policy which includes the monthly monitoring of case files for all programs, analyzes data, and provides reports on recommendations and corrective actions;
  • Ensures compliance with all grants/MOU's, overseeing all completion of performance measures, client service, satisfaction, and performance; oversees all tracking and systems with the RR data management system;
  • Reviews and approves client check requests. Confirms the distribution, tracking, and reporting of client funds including checks, gift cards, in-kind, and match contributions in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to streamline service delivery and maximize program effectiveness.
  • Help develop, implement, and evaluate program policies, operating procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with organizational standards and government regulations.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Helps establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with local refugee affiliates and other refugee service providers in the community.


Staff Supervision & Management

  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, and training of all staff under their supervision.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to the Refugee Client Services team.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Maintains consistent communication with direct reports & department through regular meetings.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and client-centered service delivery.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSW or Bachelor's Degree in a related social service field;
  • 3 years of experience in direct service work;
  • 3 years of experience in grant management;
  • 3 years providing appropriate levels of supervision to all staff members, volunteers and interns.
  • 2 years of experience working with the U.S. Refugee Resettlement program; and,
  • 2 years of experience in project management.
  • 1 year experience working with external stakeholders and developing community partnerships. minimum
  • qualification.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSW or Master's Degree in a related social service field;
  • 4 years experience in direct service provision to asylees, refugees or other vulnerable populations;
  • 4 years experience working in a cross-cultural environment with patience, sensitivity, and compassion with diverse individuals; and
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and strengths-based case management.
