What You'll Do:

As the Acquisition Analyst, you will support an exciting program within NAVAIR's Airborne Strategic Command, Control and Communications Program Office (PMA-271). If you enjoy a fast-paced working environment and want to be part of an exciting new program, this is a wonderful opportunity!


In this position, you will be entrusted with a diverse array of responsibilities:

Specific Acquisition Management System (AMS) responsibilities include:

  • Creating Procurement Initiation Document (PID) entries within the Program Management Tool (PMT) for all contract actions
  • Facilitating planned milestone dates with the Integrated Products Teams (IPTs) and entering them into the PMT to establish the milestone schedule for NORFP, EXTACT, and SIMACQ actions
  • Generating PMT milestone reports via the PMT to send out to the IPTs for review
  • Linking PMT PID to the SPID cost record within the Common Spend Plan Tool (CSPT) to ensure contract actions and funding obligations align

Pre/Post Award responsibilities include:

  • Adding new PMT PID records to the internal PMA-271 Procurement Log for workload assignments
  • Scheduling Procurement Planning Conferences (PPCs) with stakeholders
  • Generating and routing Procurement Planning Agreements (PPAs)
  • Uploading documentation to the PMT PID collaboration site for configuration control
  • Routing the PID packages for review, concurrence, and acceptance from the IPT stakeholders
  • Monitoring contract milestones within PMT and updating accordingly
  • Updating the internal PMA-271 ACQ Procurement Log with the award information

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating and participating in PMT reviews and Pre-PPCs and PPCs; capturing notes and actions
  • Participating in weekly internal ACQ Procurement Status meetings to deliver status on assigned PIDs
  • Participating in bi-weekly ACQ Team meetings to receive program updates and direction from the PMA-271 ACQ and Deputy ACQ Leads

Requirements

Who You Are:

The Acquisition Analyst will have the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably at NAVAIR, supporting acquisition strategy development and tracking, procurement package planning and progress tracking, and acquisition process implementation, is required
  • Experience working on major defense acquisition programs (MDAPs) is a plus
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities
