Safety Manager
Location: Onsite, California project sites TELYON is seeking an experienced Onsite Safety Manager with a strong background in Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar projects to join our dynamic team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Onsite full time for the duration of the project.
-
Maintain and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA Regulations, client requirements(Amazon Site Safety Rules), Site specific safety plan and the Telyon safety manual.
-
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of worksites and affected areas of the facility to identify potential hazards and risks. Inspections and audits to be completed in PROCORE.
-
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and employees to promote safety awareness and encourage adherence to safety protocols.
-
Ensure safety training and orientation for new employees and sub-contracted employees is completed prior to work, as well as any ongoing training resulting from an action plan.
-
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
-
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation through PROCORE.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, conducting inspections and responding to inquiries as needed.
-
Stay informed about changes in safety policies on-site from the client and update the Telyon office-based safety manager with any changes.
-
Lead emergency response and evacuation procedures, including coordinating drills and training exercises.
-
Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance overall safety culture.
-
Ensure the JHA is completed, up to date and has been reviewed before and after each workday.
-
Ensure that all equipment is inspected before each use with proper inspection checklist.
-
Ensure all permits have been submitted and signed off on. (Roof Permit, Hot-Work, Confined spaces)
-
Ensure Weekly toolbox talks have taken place and been documented through PROCORE.

Have weekly review meetings with Telyon Safety manager to discuss project details.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Certified Safety Professional from a board-certified safety credential from a nationally recognized organization; or
-
Bachelor's degree. (Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.)

OSHA 30 certification required.
-
2-3 years of full-time construction safety management experience, or 2-3 years of safety management in the renewable energy industry.
-
Have been on an active construction site within the last 9 months.
-
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and hazard identification techniques.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees at all levels.
-
Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of driving safety initiatives and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
-
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
